Victoria - Sharon McArthur

I have worked in the Out of School Hours Care Sector for the past 14 years as an Assistant, Coordinator, Supervisor and now in my current role as a Coordinator for Melton Shire Council Out of School Hours Services & Neighbourhood Support Program.

I have been involved in the establishment of five OSHC centres and worked “hands on” ranging from small centres with a maximum of 10 children to centres of 120 children, working both in school and local government based centres. I currentlyam also responsible for Councils Toy Library, Playgroups and Occasional Care.

In my ‘spare’ time I spent 5 years working with children with challenging behaviours or additional needs in recreational based programs. I have always had an interest in primary school aged, and have a passion for working with children in the middle years.

I have a Certificate III in Children’s Services (OSHC), Diploma of Children’s Services OSHC, Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and am currently completing my Diploma in Business Management.

I see Quality Assurance and the implementation of regulations as a positive step forward for the Victorian OSHC sector and see it as a valuable tool in the recognition of the hard work that OSHC staff do. I look forward to the day when Victoria OSHC Services becomes a regulated industry!

Victoria - Rhiannon Williams

I have a Bachelor of Social Work and a passion for advocacy and action. In my role at CCC I regularly meet with the OSHC Victoria Sub-Committee which is the Victorian branch of NOSHSA, so I am fortunate to have access to some great and enthusiastic OSHC workers keen to promote the needs of the sector. I believe I can assist NOSHSA to be a strong advocate to government, to promote the benefits and issues of Outside School Hours Care and keep OSHC on the government agenda during this exciting time of policy reform.
