About the Event

ree

The last decade has seen the regulatory context of OSHC become more and more complex, requiring approved providers and service leaders to be across a number of different legal obligations. This session provides an opportunity for those responsible for the governance, management and day to day operations of an OSHC to discuss and explore the variety of legal issues impacting the sector, including:

  • Ethical Practice

  • Legislation and Regulation in OSHC

  • Legal Structures for OSHC

  • The Duty of Care -

    • Legal Obligations to Children

    • Legal Obligations to Families

    • Legal Obligations to Staff

  • Information Handling and Records

  • Workplace Health and Safety

  • Legal Obligations –

    • Finances

    • Insurance

    • Copyright

    • Access and Equity

Understanding the legalities of operating a school age care service is essential to ensure ongoing monitoring of compliance activities within the service – SO YOU DON’T FIND YOURSELF IN TROUBLE! The session aims to develop participant’s knowledge and confidence in the oversight and management of an OSHC service.

Information provided in this session is general, intended for reference only and to be used in conjunction with relevant legislation, regulations and other guidelines.
