Outside school hours care is at a critical juncture. As the sector continues to grow and evolve, our workforce faces significant challenges that demand urgent attention and collective action. 

What we'll explore:

  • Recruitment and retention challenges – Why is it so hard to attract and keep quality educators in OSHC? What can we do together to improve recruitment and retention?

  • Wages and conditions – How do current employment conditions impact workforce sustainability?

  • Gender undervaluation – Understanding how the OSHC workforce continues to face systemic undervaluation, particularly in the leadership role. What actions can we take?

  • Sector growth and workforce capacity – How can we build the workforce needed to meet increasing demand?

     

NOSHSA will also introduce their strategic advocacy roadmap for OSHC in Australia, outlining key priorities and pathways for sector-wide change.

This is your opportunity to share your experiences and contribute to shaping a strategic direction for OSHC workforce development. Through facilitated discussions, we'll work together to identify priorities that will inform advocacy, policy development, and practical solutions for our sector.
